The sacrament of Confirmation completes the initiation of a Catholic in the faith.
In this sacrament, the faithful receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to
strengthen the believer and deepen the grace of Baptism.
Those who enter the Catholic Church as adults are generally confirmed at the
Easter Vigil when they are baptized or received into the Church.
Young adults are confirmed in eighth grade and must participate in a preparatory
program during their seventh grade year. Therefore class attendance is required
in both seventh and eighth grade for confirmation.
Confirmation is generally celebrated in the fall and is a parish-wide event in
which students, parents, and sponsors participate in the preparation and
celebration of this sacrament.
